There is no rhyme or reason. I post 'em as I see 'em.

Thomas E. Selfridge
(Below) Thomas E. Selfridge was the brother of my great-grandmother, Katherine Selfridge Kellond. He was a pioneer in aviation, and worked with the Wright brothers in developing early airplanes. He is believed to have been the first casualty of the Army Air Corps in the early part of the 20th century. There is an air base named for him in Minnesota.

Lydia Woodworth, dau. Samuel Woodworth
(Above) Lydia Woodworth is my great great great grandmother. (She is the grandmother of my great-grandmother, Katherine Selfridge Kellond, who in turn had dau. Harriet Elisabeth Kellond Richards, who had dau. Lydia Anne Richards, who had dau. Margaret Selfridge Boyer Proctor.)I am working on how to improve the quality of the picture, which must be about 120 yr. old, and looks like a tiny circular piece of film. |

Lydia Haddock Richards in her wedding dress, ca.1900
(Below) My aunt, Jane Richards Roth, found this photograph of her grandmother, my great-grandmother, in her wedding dress. She had copies made for herself and all the others who wore the dress: Lydia Anne Richards (my mother)1953, Jane Kellond Richards (aunt)1964?, Margaret Selfridge Boyer (self!)1978, Amy Richards Boyer (sister)1979, and Katie Roth (cousin, Jane's daughter)1998. As far as I know, Lydia H. Richards' only daughter, Jane Richards Worth, did not wear the dress. I heard that Victorian wedding dresses, of which this was one, were "out" when Jane Richards Worth was getting in the 1920's. Fortunately, they were back "in" when the next generations were ready to marry. Unfortunately, the dress gave up the ghost during, even before, Cousin Katie's wedding. |
Unknown Female Ancestor
I think this portrait miniature (above) came from my grandmother Boyer's house, but I am not sure. Does anyone have any idea who she is?
